Energy resilience is the ability of energy systems to prepare for, withstand and rapidly restore essential energy services in response to a major disruption. These disruptions can be caused by nonroutine natural hazards and physical or cyber attacks on energy systems.
The DNREC State Energy Office oversees federal funds used to support innovative projects improving grid reliability and resilience under the 40101(d) Grid Resilience Grant Program.
The State Energy Office is conducting an analysis of the challenges and opportunities for hardening, modernizing, and improving the resilience of the state’s electricity grid.
Federal safety rules limit the amount of time a driver may operate a large truck. Delaware law (21 Del.C. § 4707) and federal regulations allow the state to grant limited waivers of this restriction in emergency situations.
The State Energy Office is charged with energy security and emergency planning, including maintaining the Delaware Energy Security Plan, a comprehensive manual for state government leaders charged with the responsibility of ensuring the health, welfare and safety of the citizens of the state during periods of energy emergencies.
