The DNREC Nonpoint Source Program (NPS), in partnership with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 3, hosted the 2019 Mid-Atlantic Nonpoint Source Program Training and Meeting in October of 2019.
The states in the EPA Region 3 (Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia) take turns hosting this biennial event. The next meeting, in 2021, will be hosted by the state of Maryland.
The purpose of the workshop was to identify issues, refine coordination, and explore new concepts found within Region III State Water Resource Professionals (WQS, WQM, TMDL, NPS, SRF), and the EPA.
It was a goal to bring together scientists, engineers, managers, and policy makers who are actively involved in and/or affected by all aspects of water quality and nonpoint sources of pollution. This includes federal, state, and local agency personnel, water resource engineers, water resource managers, environmental consultants, environmental policy managers, ecological scientists and researchers, hydrological modelers, students, and environmental interest groups.
