Pursuant to 7 Del. C., Section 6004, notice is hereby given by the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control’s (DNREC) Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances (DWHS), Compliance and Permitting Section (CAPS) that the Delaware Solid Waste Authority’s (DSWA) Solid Waste Permit (SW-11/01) for the Cheswold Recycling Center (CRC) Transfer Station at 54 Fork Branch Road in Cheswold, Del. is being renewed by the CAPS.
The CRC permit renewal application is for the continued operation of the CRC to accept bagged municipal solid waste from residents. This permit incorporates requirements for any household hazardous waste collection event hosted by DSWA throughout the State of Delaware.
The permit application is available for review during business hours at DNREC’s CAPS office at 89 Kings Highway in Dover. A link to the documents is also available online at: de.gov/dnrecnotices.

A public hearing on the above permit renewal will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC, in care of Alison Kiliszek, receives a meritorious request within fifteen (15) days from the date of this notice (October 9, 2023). A request for a hearing must be in writing and shall state the nature of the issues to be raised at the hearing. It must also show a familiarity with the application and a reasoned statement of the activity’s probable impact.
