Non-Discrimination Policy

Notice has been given that:

Mountaire Farms, Inc., requests a (construction) permit to construct and operate two 800 HP rental boilers in preparation to replace an Iron Fireman boiler at their 55 Hosier Street, Selbyville, Sussex County facility. Each rental boiler will be permitted to emit 5.297 TPY CO, 4.945 TPY NOx, 0.0848 TPY SOx, 0.509 TPY VOC, 1.059 TPY PM10 and 1.059 TPY PM2.5 by Permit# APC-2026/0018-CONSTRUCTION (NSPS) and APC-2026/0019-CONSTRUCTION (NSPS).

The facility has also requested a permit to construct and operate a permanent 800 HP boiler at their 55 Hosier St., Selbyville, Sussex County facility. The boiler will be permitted to emit 4.945 TPY NOx, 5.297 TPY CO, 0.0848 SOx, 0.509 TPY VOC, 1.059 TPY PM10, and 1.059 TPY PM2.5 by Permit# APC-2026/0020-CONSTRUCTION (NSPS). The two boilers listed above will be removed from the facility when this boiler begins operation.

The application for this permit may be reviewed upon request. The application is posted at de.gov/dnrecnotices. A public hearing on any of the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC receives a request for a hearing regarding that application within 15 days from the date of this notice, ending September 8, 2025. A request for a hearing shall be in writing. The request must also show a familiarity with the application and a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
