Notice has been given that:
State of Delaware Department of Corrections, Howard R. Young Correctional Institution requests permission for the operation of three (3) emergency generators, rated 570 kW (764 HP) at 1301 E. 12th Street, Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. The engine used in these generator sets complies with U. S. EPA regulations under the provisions of non-road engines (40 CFR Part 60 Subpart JJJJ and 40 CFR Part 1048) emissions limits. These emergency generators will replace an existing emergency generator and be permitted by Permit: APC-2026/0095-CONSTRUCTION, APC-2026/0096-CONSTRUCTION, and APC-2026/0097-CONSTRUCTION.
The application for these permits may be reviewed upon request. The application is posted at: de.gov/dnrecnotices. A public hearing on any of the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC receives a request for a hearing regarding that application within 15 days from the date of this notice, ending January 29, 2026. A request for a hearing shall be in writing. The request must also show a familiarity with the application and a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
