Project Description: Kuehne Chemical Company has applied to the Commercial and Government Services Section for a Non-Hazardous Liquid Waste Transporters Permit, which allows for the transport of process water comprised of facility wash water, cooling water, boiler blow down water, reverse osmosis unit purge water and storm water to be disposed of at New Castle County Wastewater Treatment Facilities. The permit is designed to ensure the vehicle/container transporting non-hazardous liquid waste is operated and maintained in compliance with all state and federal regulations in a manner that is protective of public health and the environment. The permittee is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all vehicles operated under the permit.

A public hearing on the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a public hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received within 15 days from this notice, ending at 4:30 p.m. on August 6, 2026. A public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
