DNREC Notice No. WHS20250282
Non-Discrimination Policy

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances (WHS) Remediation Section (RS) has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the 613-615 N. Walnut Street Site (DE-1827)(Site), located in Milford. The Site was developed in the early 1900s and has been used for various businesses such as a feed lot, knitting mill, and window manufacturing with heating oil underground storage tanks (USTs). The site requires remedial injections in identified hydrocarbon contamination source areas, an Environmental Covenant to restrict groundwater withdrawal and limiting subsurface installations, development and implementation of long-term monitoring to evaluate contaminants trends, and development and compliance with a contaminated materials management plan (CMMP) during redevelopment.

DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan of Remedial Action for the 613-615 N Walnut Street Site (DE- 1827) on June 29 2025. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan.

Details of the Final Plan are available online at den.dnrec.delaware.gov.
