The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), Division of Fish and Wildlife (Division) will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, beginning at 6:00 p.m. to consider comments from the public on proposed revisions to 7 DE Admin. Code 3100: Boating. (Docket # 2025-R-F-0009.)

The Division proposes to make revisions to several sections/subsections of this regulation related to the administrative processes for vessel registration, accident reporting and assistance, and vessel equipment requirements. Updates include federally mandated terminology for personal flotation devices (PFDs), fire extinguishers, as well as new requirements for the use of engine cut-off switches or links. The proposal also addresses the use of parking lots at vessel ramps and launches administered by the Division. Additionally, the revisions correct typographical and grammatical errors, enhance formatting and spacing, and update the color and year notations for validation stickers.
