A Federal Consistency Certification has been submitted to the DNREC Delaware Coastal Management Program (DCMP) for the following: Verizon Replacement Copper Wire Crossing Cedar Creek (2023.0095)

Verizon proposes to remove an existing submarine cable and replace it with an aerial cable to cross Cedar Creek in Milford, Delaware. The new cable would be installed south of the SR 36 bridge and the crossing would be 163 feet from bank to bank at a height of 33 feet over the channel. New poles would be installed in uplands on either side of the creek. The proposed project requires authorization from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers through Section 14 of the Rivers and Harbors Act. The proposed activity is subject to review for consistency under the policies of the DNREC DCMP.
