Notice has been given that:

Mountaire Farms of Delaware, Inc., requests a Natural Minor permit to operate one (1) Grain Receiving Pit, one (1) Baghouse, one (1) Grain Receiving Leg, and eight (8) Grain Loadout Spouts at their facility located at 402 Main Street, Townsend, New Castle County. The receiving pit, baghouse, receiving leg, and loadout spouts will be permitted to emit 3.92 tons per year of PM10 and 0.67 tons per year of PM2.5 by Permit: APC-1996/0784-OPERATION (Amendment 10) and Permit: APC-1996/0785-OPERATION (Amendment 10). The facility’s maximum grain throughput will increase from 3.5 million bushels per year to 5 million bushels per year.

A public hearing on any of the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC receives a request for a hearing regarding that application within 15 days from the date of this notice, ending October 15, 2026. A request for a hearing shall be in writing. The request must also show a familiarity with the application and a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
