Notice has been given that:
Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill (DHCI) requests permission for the construction and operation of four (4) emergency generators, rated 600 kW (909 HP) at 100 Sunnyside Road, Smyrna, Kent County, Delaware. The engine used in this generator set complies with U. S. EPA regulations under the provisions of non-road engines (40 CFR Part 60 Subpart IIII and 40 CFR Part 1039 Appendix I) emissions limits. Permits # APC-2026/0176-CONSTRUCTION, APC-2026/0177-CONSTRUCTION, APC-2026/0178-CONSTRUCTION, and APC-2026/0179-CONSTRUCTION.
The application for this permit may be reviewed upon request. The application is posted at: de.gov/dnrecnotices. To submit comments, for additional information, or for information regarding how you can inspect the application, please contact Mia White at (302) 739 9402 or mia.white@delaware.gov.
A public hearing on any of the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC receives a request for a hearing regarding that application within 15 days from the date of this notice, ending October 1, 2026. A request for a hearing shall be in writing. The request must also show a familiarity with the application and a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
