Amendment Request

Notice has been given that:

Melson Funeral Services requests an amendment to Permit: APC-2025/0006-Construction, which would allow the proposed Matthews Environmental Solutions Power Pak II Plus (IE43-PPII Plus) Crematory Incinerator to combust propane instead of natural gas at their 41 Thatcher Street facility in Frankford, Sussex County. The crematory incinerator will be permitted to emit up to 0.115 pounds per hour (lbs/hr) and 0.215 tons per year (TPY) of particulate matter, 0.005 lbs/hr and 0.009 TPY of carbon monoxide, 1.437 lbs/hr and 2.690 TPY of nitrogen oxides, 0.003 lbs/hr and 0.006 TPY of volatile organic compounds, and 0.043 lbs/hr and 0.081 TPY of sulfur oxides by Permit: APC-2025/0006-Construction (PTE)(Amendment 1).

The application for this permit may be reviewed upon request. The application is posted at de.gov/dnrecnotices. A public hearing on any of the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC receives a request for a hearing regarding that application within 15 days from the date of this notice, ending October 28, 2024. A request for a hearing shall be in writing. The request must also show a familiarity with the application and a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
