Notice has been given that:
FMC Stine Research Center, requests a temporary permit to construct and operate a Cummins 1,111kW (1490HP) diesel fired portable generator at their facility located at 1090 Elkton Road, Newark, New Castle County. The engine used in this generator set complies with U. S. EPA regulations under the provisions of 40 CFR 89, Non-Road Tier 2 emissions limits. The portable generator will be permitted to emit 0.73 tons per year of NOX, 0.43 tons per year of CO, 0.02 tons per year of PMTotal, 0.05 tons per year of HC, and 0.001 tons per year of SOX by Permit: APC-2024/0078-CONSTRUCTION/OPERATION (Temporary).
Please note that the emissions from this temporary portable generator will also be restricted to 100 hours of operation for a period to not exceed 90 days. Emissions from this temporary portable generator will be included with facility wide emissions reporting as required by the facility’s existing Title V Permit (Permit: AQM-003/00279 (Renewal 4)(Revision 2)).

A public hearing on any of the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC receives a request for a hearing regarding that application within 15 days from the date of this notice, ending April 15, 2024. A request for a hearing shall be in writing. The request must also show a familiarity with the application and a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
