The Delaware Coastal Management Program’s draft 309 Enhancement Strategy is available for review and comment:
The Coastal Zone Enhancement Program encourages state coastal management programs to strengthen and improve their federally approved programs in one or more of nine enhancement areas. Pursuant to Section 309 of the Coastal Zone Management Act, as amended, the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Delaware Coastal Management Program has submitted its draft 2026-2030 Section 309 Enhancement Area Assessment and Strategy to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Office for Coastal Management. The assessment seeks to identify enhancement opportunities within nine enhancement areas. The strategy proposes a multi-year plan to enhance management activities within two high priority areas: coastal hazards and wetlands. The draft document is available for public review and comment for 30 days from the date of this notice, ending March 8, 2026 and can be accessed at de.gov/dnrecnotices.
