A Federal Consistency Certification has been submitted to the DNREC Delaware Coastal Management Program (DCMP) for the following: Grande at Canal Pointe Community Kayak Launch Dock Update (2026.0011)

The Grande at Canal Pointe Maintenance Corporation proposes to utilize a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Individual Permit to construct a community kayak launch dock on the west shoreline of the Lewes & Rehoboth Canal. The proposed project is on the east side of Gloucester Drive on community open space within the existing Grande at Canal Pointe community (Tax map parcel 334-13.00-1745.00). This project design would consist of an elevated wetland walkway (3ft x 73 ft), access pier (4ft x 6ft), aluminum ramp (4ft x 20ft), floating dock tee (6ft x 6ft), floating dock (8ft x 30ft), and “Yakport” kayak launch cradle (4ft x 5ft). The proposed activity is subject to review for consistency under the policies of the DNREC DCMP.
