Project Description: Sussex County proposes to install approximately fifty one thousand and nine hundred linear feet (51,900 LF) of six inch (6”) diameter sanitary sewer force main, sixteen thousand and five hundred linear feet (16,500 LF) of eight inch (8”) diameter sanitary force main, three thousand and four hundred linear feet (3,400 LF) of ten inch (10”) diameter sanitary force main, five hundred and twelve linear feet (512 LF) of ten inch (10”) diameter sanitary vacuum gravity main, eight thousand two hundred and thirty-three linear feet (8,233 LF) of eight inch (8”) diameter sanitary vacuum gravity main, six thousand and twenty one linear feet (6,021 LF) of six inch (6”) diameter sanitary vacuum gravity main, six thousand three hundred and forty linear feet (6,340 LF) of four inch (4”) diameter vacuum gravity main, and one (1) Vacuum pump station with a centrifugal pump outgoing to serve a sewer extension and diversion project at Town of Slaughter Beach and numerous roads in Sussex County, DE 19963. The proposed force main will connect to the Sussex Regional Recharge Facility.

A public hearing on the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a public hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received within 15 days from this notice, ending at 4:30 p.m. on December 25th, 2025. A public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
