Modification request submitted on Sept. 18, 2024, after close of business. The only change is to the proposed dredge volume, increasing it from 550,000 cy to 800,000 cy.

This office has under consideration the applications of:

DNREC Division of Watershed Stewardship – Requests for a Section §401 Water Quality Certification to conduct emergency beach renourishment activities along the north side of the Indian River Inlet in Bethany Beach, Sussex County, DE.

A public hearing on the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a public hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received within 20 days from this notice. A public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
