Non-Discrimination Policy

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Remediation Section (RS) has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the Foundry at Riverview Site [DE-1737] (Site) located in New Castle, Delaware. The Site was previously part of the Seeds of Greatness Church Brownfield Site (DE-1474) and was operated as a foundry. The following remedial actions are required for the Site: capping of soils, recording of an environmental covenant with the property deed that restricts both intrusive activities beneath the installed cap and use of groundwater, and compliance with DNREC-approved plans for the long-term monitoring and management of site soils and groundwater to prevent exposure to future Site users.

DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan of Remedial Action (Proposed Plan) for the Foundry at Riverview Site on October 5, 2025. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan.

Details of the Final Plan of Remedial Action (Final Plan) are available online at den.dnrec.delaware.gov.
