The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Remediation Section (RS) invites public comment on a proposal to clean up the 1300 & 1310 E. 8th Street Site (DE-1869) (Site) located at 1300 & 1310 E. 8th Street in Wilmington, Delaware. The approximately 2.1-acre Site operated as a lumber shed and truck shop from the 1920s until the late 1950s. From 1959 to 2024, the Site operated as an auto body and glass shop.
The Site will be subject to the following key remedial actions: maintenance of the existing cap, development and compliance with a Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP) and a Long-Term Stewardship (LTS) Plan, and the recording of an Environmental Covenant limiting interference with remedy and groundwater withdrawal.
Details of the Proposed Plan of Remedial Action (Proposed Plan) are available online at den.dnrec.delaware.gov.
