Non-Discrimination Policy

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Remediation Section (RS) has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of 436 S. Buttonwood Street (DE-1847) (Site) located in Wilmington, Delaware.  The Site was previously used as an autobody shop, formerly known as White’s Autobody. 

Key remedial actions include restriction on the use of groundwater, a remedial action workplan, restricted disturbance of any remedy including all caps containing asphalt, concrete, or soil, or digging for landscaping or hardscaping, compliance with Contaminated Material Management Plan (CMMP) and compliance with a Long-Term Stewardship Plan to ensure elimination of exposure to existing Site soils and groundwater for future Site users.

DNREC issued public notice of the Proposed Plan of Remedial Action (Proposed Plan) for the 436 S. Buttonwood Street Site on June 17, 2026.  There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan.
