The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Remediation Section (RS) has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the Augustine Wildlife Area-Cooper Cross Property [DE-1759] Site (Site), located in Middletown, Delaware. The Site will be subject to the following key remedial actions: the submittal of a Remedial Action Work Plan (RAWP) which specifies the removal and disposal of primarily polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) impacted soils to meet DNREC Hazardous Substance Cleanup Act (HSCA) standards, the recording of an Environmental Covenant restricting groundwater withdrawal, and the submittal of a Remedial Action Completion Report (RACR).
DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan of Remedial Action (Proposed Plan) for the Augustine Wildlife Area-Cooper Cross Property Site on March 11, 2026. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan.
