The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Remediation Section (RS) invites public comment on a proposal to clean up Augustine Wildlife Area-Cooper Cross Property (DE-1759) (Site) located on the east side of Delaware City Port Penn Road in Middletown, Delaware. The Site consists of primarily undeveloped land. A gravel parking lot, walking trail, parking area and observation deck are located on the Site.
The Site will be subject to the following key remedial actions: the submittal of a Remedial Action Work Plan (RAWP) which specifies the removal and disposal of primarily poly-chlorinated biphenyl (PCB) impacted soils to meet DNREC Hazardous Substance Cleanup Act (HSCA) standards, the recording of an Environmental Covenant restricting groundwater withdrawal, and the submittal of a Remedial Action Completion Report (RACR).
