The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Remediation Section (RS) has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the Black Oak Development Operable Unit -2 (OU-2) Site (DE-1863) (Site) located in Lewes. The Site was historically used for agricultural purposes and consists of approximately 24 acres of a larger 77-acre parcel. The site has been divided into two operable units. OU-1, consisting of the soil, has been remediated under a separate Proposed Plan of Remedial Action (Proposed Plan). OU-2 consists of groundwater and soil vapor.
DNREC-RS issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for the Black Oak Development OU-2 Site on November 12, 2025. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan.
Details of the Final Plan of Remedial Action are available online at den.dnrec.delaware.gov.
