The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Remediation Section (RS) invites public comments on a proposal to clean-up the Black Oak Development Site, Operable Unit-2 (OU-2) (DE-1863) (Site) located at 14241 Black Oak Drive in Lewes. The Site was historically used for agricultural purposes and consists of approximately 24 acres of a larger 77-acre parcel. The site has been divided into two operable units. OU-1, consisting of the soil, has been remediated under a separate Proposed Plan of Remedial Action (Proposed Plan). OU-2 consists of groundwater and soil vapor.
The Black Oak Development Site OU-2 is subject to the development and compliance with the Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP), and the recording of an Environmental Covenant (EC) to restrict the use of groundwater on site.
