Final Plan of Remedial Action for Estate of William C. Ward, Operable Unit-2 (DE-1272)

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances (WHS) Remediation Section (RS) has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the Estate of William C. Ward, Operable Unit-2 (OU- 2) Site (DE-1272) (Site) located in Wilmington. The Site is part of a former incinerator dump that has been subdivided into two (2) operable units (OU). The New Castle County tax parcel number associated with OU-2 is 2605700051 and the size is approximately 4.29 acres.

Key remedial actions will include the development of a Remedial Action Workplan, Contaminated Materials Management Plan, a Long-Term Stewardship plan and restrictions on property usage and groundwater withdrawal. Property is solely to be used commercially.

DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan of Remedial Action (Proposed Plan) for the Estate of William C. Ward, OU-2 Site, May 29, 2025. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan.
