The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (“Department” or “DNREC”) has adopted a final plan of remedial action (“Final Plan”) regarding the clean-up of the 1281 Airport Road Site (DE- 1826) (“Site”) located in Milford. The Site was historically used for residential housing since the early 1950s. The site has also been associated with the Milford Air Park maintenance buildings and three aviation grade gasoline tanks and dispensers located on the western portion of the property. The Site consists of approximately 3.90 acres located on the north side of Airport Road and west of Dupont Boulevard.
The 1281 Airport Road Site (DE-1826) will be subject to the following key remedial action(s): development and compliance with the Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP), the recording of an Environmental Covenant restricting groundwater withdrawal and compliance with the CMMP, and submittal of a Long-Term Stewardship (LTS) Plan for monitoring groundwater chemicals of concern.
DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan of Remedial Action (“Proposed Plan”) for the1281 Airport Road Site on December 15, 2024. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan.
