The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the 34477 Pepper Road (DE-1844) Site located in Frankford. The Site is an approximately 3.0-acre property consisting of Sussex County tax parcel 533-4.00-28.01. The Site is proposed to be a part of a large residential development encompassing multiple properties.

The site will be subject to the following key remedial actions:, preparation and implementation of a site-specific Long-Term Stewardship (LTS) Plan, development of and compliance with a Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP) and recording of an Environmental Covenant that restricts groundwater withdrawal, requires compliance with the LTS plan and CMMP, and restricts construction in the limited area of the modeled extent of the dissolved petroleum groundwater plume without the prior written approval of DNREC-RS.

DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for the 34477 Pepper Road Site on November 17th, 2024. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan.
