The Department invites public comment on a proposal to clean-up the 34477 Pepper Road site (DE-1844) located at 34477 Pepper Road in Frankford, Delaware. The Site is an approximately 3.0-acre property consisting of Sussex County tax parcel 533-4.00-28.01. The Site is proposed to be a part of a large residential development encompassing multiple properties.

The site will be subject to the following key remedial actions:, preparation and implementation of a site-specific Long-Term Stewardship (LTS) Plan, development of and compliance with a Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP) and recording of an Environmental Covenant that restricts groundwater withdrawal, requires compliance with the LTS plan and CMMP, and restricts building construction in the limited area of the modeled extent of the dissolved petroleum groundwater plume without the prior written approval of DNREC-RS.

Details of the Proposed Plan are available online at: den.dnrec.delaware.gov

The comment period ends at close of business (4:30PM) on December 9, 2024. For additional information, please contact Shahroze Ali, Project Manager at (302) 395-2600 or via email at RS_Public_Comments@delaware.gov.
