Subaqueous Lands Permit

Chesapeake Utilities – within a DelDot Right-of-Way adjacent to 234-17.00-36.00 and 234-17.00-38.00 – To install an 8-inch, 293 foot long natural gas pipeline using directional boring under Unity Branch and State-regulated wetlands adjacent to John J. Williams Highway in Lewes, Sussex County, DE.

DNREC Division of Watershed Stewardship – 133-17.00-5.00 & 133-17.14-28.00 – proposes to restore 6 acres of historic vegetated tidal wetlands. Restoration activities will take place over two winter seasons (2023-2024) to a target elevation of 0.3m NAVD88 using dredge material sourced from the adjacent Indian River, Millsboro, Sussex County, Delaware and supplied by the DNREC- Division of Watershed Stewardship, Shoreline and Waterway Management Section.

Subaqueous Lands Permit and Water Quality Certification

DNREC, Division of Watershed Stewardship – 50011517012900000 & 80111517026800000, 80111517026900000, 80111517 027000000, 80111517027100000, 80111517027200000, 80111517025000000, 8011151702 7400000, 80111517027500000, 80111517027800000 & 80111517027801000 – proposes to reconstruct the north and south jetties at the entrance to the Murderkill River near Bowers Beach, Kent County, Delaware to reduce the loss of sand and sediment into the river and reduce the need for dredging the entrance channel. On the north side, approximately 5,000 cubic yards of sediment will be excavated and placed upland of the jetty with 13,000 tons of granite stone placed over 300 feet to create the structural cross sections. On the south side, approximately 7,000 cubic yards of sediment would be excavated and placed south of the jetty with 18,500 tons of granite placed over 550 feet to create the structural cross sections. Salt tolerant vegetation would also be planted behind the north rubble-mound. Additionally, in accordance with Section 401 of the Clean Water Act, a Water Quality Certification (WQC) is being requested by the applicant.

Drawbridge Claymont LLC. – 06-073.00-002 – to utilize and maintain 150 linear feet of bulkhead with 16 batter piles, channelward of mean high water, in the Delaware River, at 6300 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, New Castle County, DE.

Patrick & Lesley Shuey – 234-18.00-67.01 – to repair by replace a 6 by 47 foot pier, 8 by 25 foot long dock, and to install a boat lift with 2 associated pilings, in Hopkins Prong, at 33252 W. Waters Edge Trail, Millsboro, Sussex County, DE.

Please indicate in your letter whether your intention is to request a public hearing or whether you are simply providing comments for the Department’s consideration. If a public hearing is desired, please be advised that a public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
