The State of Delaware (DelDOT) has requested an allocation permit for one proposed agricultural well. The maximum daily withdrawal is 288,000 gallons per day. The well will be located northwest of Dagsboro in Sussex County, near the intersection of Dagsboro and Fire Tower Roads. Tax parcel 233-5.00-179.00.

Artesian Water Company (Frankford) has applied for a renewal of its public water allocation which serves approximately 1,000 people in Sussex County. The application includes two existing public wells. The requested allocation is 0.25 million gallons (MG) per day, 5.0 MG per month, and 50.0 MG per year.

A public hearing on the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a public hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received by November 9, 2020, at 4:30 p.m. A public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
