The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Division of Water, hereby gives notice that a permit application for the construction of wastewater conveyance has been received concerning the following:
Artesian Wastewater Management, Inc. proposes to install approximately six thousand linear feet (6,000 LF) of eight (8) diameter force main, gate valves, air release and vacuum manholes and related appurtenances to serve the existing Anthem/Holland Mills subdivisions’ pump station. The force main will be installed on the north side Walker Road from the aforementioned pump station to the Hudson Road intersection northeast of Harbeson in Sussex County, Delaware. The proposed force main will discharge to an existing force main on Hudson Road. The purpose of the proposed force main is to redirect sanitary sewer flow from the Milton wastewater treatment plant to the Artesian Beaver Creek wastewater treatment plant. An increase to the permitted wastewater capacity of the Beaver Creek treatment facility is not being proposed as a result of this project.

A public hearing concerning the above application will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious request for a hearing is received on or before March 16, 2022. A request for a public hearing shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
