The Department invites public comment on a proposal to clean-up the 4845 & 4867 DuPont Parkway Site (DE-1777) located at 4845 and 4867 DuPont Parkway in Townsend. The Site has been used for various purposes since approximately the 1940s, including as a gasoline service station, an automobile repair/service facility, a residence, a restaurant, and a furniture store, but is currently vacant.
The Site will be subject to the following key remedial actions: development of and compliance with a Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP), and the recording of an Environmental Covenant that restricts site use to non-residential, restricts development within a wetland area, restricts groundwater withdrawal from beneath the Site, and requires compliance with the CMMP.
Details of the Proposed Plan are available online at: den.dnrec.delaware.gov/
The comment period ends on February 21, 2023. For additional information, please contact Lindsay Hall, Project Manager, at (302) 395-2600 or via email at RS_Public_Comments@delaware.gov.
