The Department invites public comment on a proposal to clean-up the 401 Bellevue Road Site located in Newark (also part of the larger Newark South Groundwater Plume Superfund Site). The Site once contained a machine shop along with an HVAC duct fabrication, insulation, and coatings technology company. Proposed clean-up requirements include the installation of a vapor barrier system under all current and future buildings onsite, an Environmental Covenant to restrict groundwater and limit the Site to commercial use only, a Contaminated Material Management Plan for Site redevelopment, and a Long Term Stewardship Plan for indoor air monitoring. The Site will be re-developed for commercial purposes.
Details of the Proposed Plan are available online at: http://www.nav.dnrec.delaware.gov/DEN3/
The comment period ends on October 10, 2020. For additional information, please contact Brenda Haire, Project Manager at (302) 395-2600 or via email at RS_Public_Comments@delaware.gov.
