Proposed Plan of Remedial Action For Talleyville Sunoco (DE-1715)

Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances

Published: July 4, 2021
Comments Due: July 26, 2021

The Department invites public comment on a proposal to clean-up Talleyville Sunoco (DE-1715) located at 3930 Concord Pike in Wilmington. The Site had formerly been a gasoline and service station since the 1960’s with underground storage tanks (USTs) and fuel dispensers. Historical site operations have resulted in petroleum releases which have impacted the soil and groundwater. The 0.60 acre Site contains a vacant, single-story commercial building with attached three (3) bay auto-repair garage. The canopy, fuel dispensers, and USTs have been removed.

Proposed clean-up requirements include an Environmental Covenant to restrict groundwater use, and a Contaminated Material Management Plan for Site redevelopment. The Site will be re-developed for commercial purposes.

Details of the Proposed Plan are available online at: www.nav.dnrec.delaware.gov/DEN3/

The comment period ends on July 26, 2021. For additional information, please contact Brenda Haire, Project Manager at (302) 395-2680 or via email at RS_Public_Comments@delaware.gov.
