The Department invites public comment on a proposal to clean-up the Schooner Landing Site (DE-1766) located west of Polly Branch Road in Selbyville. The Site was previously used for strawberry cultivation and consists of three former greenhouse structures in a wooded lot.
The Schooner Landing Site will be subject to the following key remedial actions: the submittal of a Remedial Action Work Plan which specifies the methods to be used to remediate the site including the removal and disposal of primarily arsenic-impacted soils to meet DNREC Hazardous Substance Cleanup Act (HSCA) standards, development and compliance with the Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP), the recording of an Environmental Covenant restricting groundwater withdrawal and compliance with the CMMP, and the submittal of a Remedial Action Completion Report.
Details of the Proposed Plan are available online at: den.dnrec.delaware.gov/
The comment period ends on March 1, 2022. For additional information, please contact Stephanie Gordon, Project Manager at (302) 395-2600 or via email at RS_Public_Comments@delaware.gov.
