The Department invites public comment on a proposal to clean-up Operable Unit 7 (OU-7) Marina District of the Fort Dupont Redevelopment (DE-1618) located east of the intersection of Wingate Road and Governor Bacon Health Center Lane/Marina Road in Delaware City. OU-7 is the seventh of several Operable Units (OUs) within the over 300-acre Fort Dupont Site that had historically been occupied and operated as a Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) and later as the Governor Bacon Health Center. The entire Fort DuPont Site intends to be investigated and redeveloped as part of a revitalization and preservation effort.
Fort Dupont Redevelopment OU-7 Marina District will be subject to the following key remedial actions: removal and disposal of two hot spot areas; close and abandon the monitoring wells in accordance with state and local regulations; and the recording of an Environmental Covenant limiting groundwater withdrawal.
Details of the Proposed Plan are available online at: den.dnrec.delaware.gov/
The comment period ends on July 3, 2023 For additional information, please contact Morgan McGee-Solomon, Project Manager at (302) 395-2600 or via email at RS_Public_Comments@delaware.gov.
