The Department invites public comment on a proposal to clean-up Cavaliers Country Club OU-1B.1 (DE-1600) located at 100 Addison Drive in Newark, Delaware. The Site is part of a former 18-hole golf course that has been divided into four operable units, OU-1A, OU-1B, OU-1B.1, and OU-2, to facilitate cleanup and redevelopment. Cavaliers Country Club OU-1B.1 consists of approximately 1 acre located near the southern boundary of the property including a portion of the connector road (“Haul Road”).

Cavaliers Country Club OU-1B.1 will be subject to the following key remedial actions: the submittal of a Remedial Action Work Plan (RAWP) which specifies the methods to be used to remediate the site including the removal and disposal of primarily arsenic-impacted soils to meet DNREC Hazardous Substance Cleanup Act (HSCA) standards, development and compliance with the Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP), the recording of an Environmental Covenant restricting groundwater withdrawal and compliance with the CMMP, and the submittal of a Remedial Action Completion Report.
