The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) – Remediation Section (RS) invites public comment on a proposal to address the 532-540 Old Barksdale Road Site (DE-1747) located at 532-540 Old Barksdale Road in Newark, Delaware. The site is approximately 1.27 acres in size and contains New Castle County tax parcels 1802500134, 1802500135, 1802500347. Prospective use of the Site is anticipated to be development of a residential complex consisting of one 5-story apartment building.

The 532-540 Old Barksdale Road Site will be subject to the following remedial actions:

• Recording of an Environmental Covenant (EC) that restricts groundwater withdrawal for consumptive use
• Development and compliance with a Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP)
• Requesting of a Certification of Completion of Remedy (COCR)
