The Department invites public comments on a proposal to clean-up 201 Gold Site (DE-0323) located at 201 Vandever Avenue in Wilmington. From the early 1900s until recently, the Site was used for various commercial purposes. The building is currently vacant. Historic Site operations likely resulted in volatile organic compound and pesticide releases which have impacted the groundwater.
201 Gold Site will be subject to the following remedial actions including: vapor mitigation system installation; investigation, delineation, and removal of an area of suspected shallow soil contamination below the building slab; development and compliance with a Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP) and Long-Term Stewardship Plan (LTS); and recording of an Environmental Covenant restricting well installation and groundwater withdrawal.
Details of the Proposed Plan are available online at: den.dnrec.delaware.gov/
The comment period ends on January 15, 2024. For additional information, please contact Brenda Haire, DNREC Project Officer via email at RS_Public_Comments@delaware.gov or at (302) 395-2600.
