James Thompson and Company, Inc. has applied to the Groundwater Discharges Section for reissuance of Spray Irrigation Permit DEN 359148-04. James Thompson and Company, Inc. manufactures finished cotton goods. The permit authorizes the land application of screened wastewater from fabric finishing, fabric dying, fabric rinsing, burlap bleaching, boiler blow down, and water conditioner back washing. The wastewater is spray irrigated via a four-center pivot system onto 45 acres planted in orchard grass and alfalfa. The manufacturing facility is located on Snider Street, Greenwood, Sussex County, Delaware. The spray irrigation fields are located southwest of the Plant, on the west side of the Conrail tracks and north of Grubby Neck Branch, Greenwood, Sussex County, Delaware. Perry Butler Trucking, Inc. dba P. B. Trucking, Inc. has applied to the Groundwater Discharges Section for a renewal of Non-Hazardous Liquid Waste Transporters Permit DE OH-630 which allows for the transport of other non-hazardous liquid waste (clam waste and waste filter cake generated at Sea Watch International) to be disposed of at out-of-state permitted facilities.

A public hearing on the above application will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a public hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious objection to the application is received within 15 days from this notice. A public hearing request shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the action’s probable impact.
