The DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife proposes to remove the existing observation tower at Assawoman Wildlife Area and replace with a new ADA accessible observation tower, as well as install a new ADA accessible boardwalk loop, ADA accessible parking spaces and access to boardwalk and tower, install additional parking, interpretive signs, and an enclosure for portable restrooms. It is asking for public comment on an Environmental Assessment of the proposal.
The Environmental Assessment concludes that the preferred alternative would not result in any adverse environmental impacts and would provide safer and more accessible wildlife viewing access for all visitors.
