The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of Operable Unit (OU) 43, OU-44, and OU- 45 of the Hamilton Park/Pyles Lane Site, a residential neighborhood located in New Castle. The Site soils have been impacted likely due to fill materials placed prior to the construction of the homes. The Plan for OU-43, OU-44, and OU-45 requires the removal of soils within the top two feet below ground surface in select areas within each operable unit to ensure elimination of exposure to existing soils for property users.
DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for OU-43, OU-44, and OU-45 of the Hamilton Park/Pyles Lane Site on March 22, 2023. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available online at: den.dnrec.delaware.gov
