The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the South Walnut Street Right-of-Way Site located in Wilmington. The Site used as a right-of-way for the South Walnut Street required the proper closure and abandonment of the on-site soil gas and monitoring wells; a site-specific Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP); and, an Environmental Covenant restricting land-use to non-residential types, interference of remedy, limitation of groundwater withdrawal, and compliance with the site-specific CMMP.
DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for the South Market Street Right-of-Way Site on May 5, 2021. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan. Details of the Final Plan are available online at: www.nav.dnrec.delaware.gov/DEN3/Detail/FacilityDetail.aspx?id=10759751
