The Department has adopted a plan regarding the clean-up of the 38 Bancroft Mills Road Site located in Wilmington. The Site was formerly used in the operation of the former Wilmington Piece Dye facility. The site was used as an industrial water filtering site and is now vacant. The site requires the submittal of a Remedial Action Work Plan for site capping. Additional requirements include the submittal and adherence to a Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP) and Long- Term Stewardship Plan, and the placement of an environmental covenant that will restrict the site’s use of groundwater.
DNREC issued a public notice of the Proposed Plan for the 38 Bancroft Mills Road Site on January 17, 2023. There were no comments or questions from the public regarding the Proposed Plan.
