A Federal Consistency Certification including the Construction and Operations Plan has been submitted to the Delaware Coastal Management Program (DCMP) for the following: US Wind Maryland Offshore Project (2022.0088)

US Wind, Inc. proposes to develop a commercial-scale, offshore wind energy project in the Lease Area known as Lease OCS–A 0490 offshore of Maryland. The project comprises of up to 121 wind turbine generators, up to four offshore substations, up to four offshore export cables, and one meteorological tower, in a gridded array pattern distributed across the Lease Area. The offshore export cables are proposed to make landfall in Sussex County, Delaware.

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management submitted the federal consistency certification to the DCMP on behalf of US Wind, Inc. including the construction and operations plan on June 23, 2022. US Wind, Inc. and DCMP entered into a stay agreement to pause the project review to allow for the draft environmental impact statement to be developed. The review has been stayed in accordance with 15 CFR 930.60(b) until August 9, 2023, when the project review will commence. The timing for public comment opportunities will be provided after the project review has commenced. The review is currently set to be completed on January 9, 2024.

Update (8/8/23): On August 1, 2023, DNREC DCMP and US Wind, Inc. entered into a second stay agreement to extend the pause of the project review. The review has been stayed in accordance with 15 CFR 930.60(b) from August 9, 2023 until February 9, 2024, when the project review will commence. The timing for public comment opportunities will be provided after the project review has commenced. The review is currently set to be completed on or before July 9, 2024.
