A Federal Consistency Certification has been submitted to the DNREC Delaware Coastal Management Program (DCMP) for the following: Chesapeake Utilities Canary Creek (2024.0027)

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation proposes to utilize a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nationwide Permit 12 for the installation of a 4-inch natural gas line beneath Canary Creek and its adjacent wetlands via horizontal directional drilling. The line would be located approximately 53 feet southeast of the center of the New Road highway bridge in Lewes, Sussex County, DE. The proposed activity is subject to review for consistency under the policies of the DNREC DCMP.
