The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), Division of Air Quality (AQ) is providing the public an opportunity to inspect and comment on an exceptional event demonstration prior to submission of the final demonstration to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This demonstration is being submitted in accordance with 40 CFR 50.14. It requests that EPA concur that ozone data at Delaware’s Lums Monitor on June 2, 2023 was influenced by the presence of wildfire smoke and will not be used for regulatory determinations.

The Department will accept public comment through the close of business on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Comments will be accepted in written form via email to angela.marconi@Delaware.gov or by U.S. mail to the following address:
