Notice has been given that:
Mealy Funeral Homes and Crematory requests a permit to construct a natural gas fired crematory at their 313 Robinson Lane Wilmington, DE 19805 facility. This crematory is adjacent to their existing operation at 312 Robinson Lane. The crematory will be permitted to emit 0.21 tons per year (TPY) of particulate matter (PM), 1.85 TPY of nitrogen oxides (NOx), 0.0094 TPY of carbon monoxide (CO), 0.29 TPY of sulfur dioxide (SOx), 0.008 TPY of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by Permit: APC-2022/0065-Construction.
Using information obtained through testing conducted and published by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Department has estimated and modeled the emission rates of various trace heavy metals and hazardous air pollutants emitted from operation of the and determined that the pollutants do not pose a threat to the health and safety of the general public.

A public hearing on any of the above applications will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC receives a request for a hearing regarding that application within 15 days from the date of this notice, ending Monday, July 5, 2022. A request for a hearing shall be in writing. The request must also show a familiarity with the application and a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
