The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Remediation Section (RS) invites public comment on a proposal to clean-up Delaware Park Services Building Site (DE-1902) (Site) located at 2701 Capitol Trail in Newark, New Castle County, Delaware. The Site consists of one tax parcel (0804930379), totaling approximately 12.67 acres. The Site has been historically used as an office and administration building since it was constructed in the 1960s. Several underground storage tanks (USTs) and a fueling island were previously present at the site.
The Site will be subject to the following key remedial actions: maintenance of the existing top two feet within area of concern (AOC); development and compliance with the Contaminated Materials Management Plan (CMMP) and a Long-Term Stewardship (LTS) Plan; recording of an Environmental Covenant limiting soil disturbance within the AOC, restricting groundwater withdrawal, and requiring compliance with the CMMP and LTS Plan.
Details of the Proposed Plan of Remedial Action (Proposed Plan) are available online at den.dnrec.delaware.gov.
