A Federal Consistency Determination has been submitted to the DNREC Delaware Coastal Management Program (DCMP) for the following: USACE Mispillion Inlet Damage Mitigation (2026.0026)
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has provided a federal consistency determination regarding the tentatively selected plan identified in a draft detailed project report/environmental assessment evaluating the impacts of the Mispillion Inlet Federal Navigation Project on shoreline erosion north of Mispillion Inlet that occurred after the jetties at the northern and southern portions of the inlet were previously constructed. The tentatively selected plan includes the placement of approximately 80,500 cubic yards of sand forming a 1,700-foot long by 150-foot wide protective berm on Conch Bar north of the rock dike with a crest elevation of + 5 ft NAVD88. The proposed activity is subject to review for consistency under the policies of the DNREC DCMP.
